The Austrian Model 14 Rifle was commandeered from the Chilean contract. Note the enlarged sling swivel under the butt and the Model 95 Austrian sling. The roller buckle engaging the tongue of the sling on the upper band had to be passed through the lower swivel in order to properly attach the sling. It was the presence of this buckle the necessitated the enlarged lower sling swivel. (John Sheehan collection)
