Book Giveaway: Glock Deconstructed

9781440232787_5inch_300dpi** This giveaway has ended, but be sure to check the Inside Gun Digest Books blog for more chances to win great Gun Digest books.**

Glock handguns: Love ‘em or hate ‘em, Glock Deconstructed offers an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at one of the most famous gun makers in modern firearms history.

Not exactly a Glock love-fest (To quote the author: “If what you want is breathless recitation of the latest press handout, plenty of writers and PR people can do that for you.”), author Patrick Sweeney pulls from decades of experience as a gunsmith, competition shooter and reloader to chronicle this subject with a commendable attempt at a balanced approach.

People tell me Glocks are ultra-reliable, durable, accurate, easy-to-use, and easy to maintain. My experience has been not so much. Then again, they don’t fit my hands very well. However, Glock sells a lot of them, so they’ve got to be working for some of you. There’s plenty to say about Glocks, both positive and not.

This week, we’re giving away a copy of Glock Deconstructed to one lucky winner. To enter the random drawing, just post a comment below telling us about your personal experience with Glock handguns.

p7Or, as always, you can just say you’d like to win the giveaway.

Entries will be accepted until midnight Monday (July 22, 2013) and we’ll announce the winner Tuesday (July 23) right here in the Inside Gun Digest Books blog.

Good luck!

I am what one might consider an “older” Glock shooter. Older in years and still shooting my 1st generation Glock 17. This old pistol has had over sixteen thousand rounds fired through it, and still has all the original parts in it. Would be nice to have a book to show the history of such a wonderful made and durable handgun. Thanks for the opportunity to win this copy in a random drawing.

I own 5 glocks and love everyone of them. I enjoy enhancing them, and, of course shooting. I have been in product development in the home industries for 35 years (not guns), and really admire the fit-form-and function of the glock gun. Well made, comfortable, able to eat any ammo, virtually indestructable, and easy to strip down.

It’s a reliable weapon, but what the hell was he thinking what that grip angle?!?

Does anyone know if the Cominolli Thumb Safety is compatible with CTC Lasergrips on the Glock? I strongly prefer to have a manual safety on my carry gun & would like to carry a G23, but I haven’t been able to get an answer to this question. Thanks!

I got a G29SF, which I didn’t consider how much a 10mm would kick with 3-4 fingers holding it. I got some mag extensions and Started hitting the target. Highly recommended

I love my two Glocks. Lots of fun to shoot in IDPA matches. Just wish 9mm ammo wasn’t so hard to find (i.e. expensive). Anyway, I’ve been wanting a book telling me more about my favorite pistol, and this book my be it!

I have been considering a Glock as a next purchase but I too have heard both good and bad over the years. This book would certainly help my decision.

I would LOVE to win that free book. I love Glock, but will always accept some criticism about it. There is NO perfect anything -except Jesus Christ! Thanks. D
