Gun Digest has been publishing the Cartridges of the World since 1965, and during that time we’ve seen a lot of cartridges come and go. While this newest and most comprehensive 13th edition, just like its predecessors, contains information on many rounds that are no longer in production, we made room for new rounds moving many esoteric, odd and obsolete rounds to a bonus CD, which is included with the book.
In this completely revised and updated 13th edition, you also get:
- 55 all-new factory manufactured and wildcat cartridge listings, complete with technical drawings
- Updated resource information throughout
- Fully updated specifications and references
Plus, a special color section includes essays by three of the industries leading writers with crucial, “state of the union” information.
This week, we’re giving away a copy of Cartridges of the World to one lucky winner.
To enter the random drawing, just post a comment below telling us about your primary interest in cartridges. Are you a reloader, a collector or a simply a connoisseur of all things firearms? Or, as always, you can just say you’d like to win the book.

Will be traveling to Alaska for the holidays and will have a great New years with my granddaughter and son and daughter-in-law. Have a great New Years.
I am still new to reloading, and I am interested in everything firearms related. I would love to win this book.
I am a veteran of the US Marine Infantry, and as such, I am familiar with the cartidges we used with our issued firearms. I am, however, not familiar with other cartidges. My interest has been sparked, however, now that I am using different handguns and go shooting with other folks. I am familiar with automatics, but have never used a revolver and don’t know much about revolver ammo. My family has also developed an interest in hunting, but we don’t know much about the various calibers of ammunition for hunting (what caliber is a good match for what game, etc.). My teenage son has also has an interest in gunsmithing and is ALWAYS telling me about new guns, etc. Having this book would be a great thing for my whole family, would be something that my son and I could really dig into together.
I have been reloading for a few years, and go shooting whenever possible. I am amazed at how often I learn about another caliber/firearm that I never heard of, and would love to win this book. I found an excellent resource by hanging out with a bunch of older retired military fellows that are always willing to share some of their experiences.
