** The giveaway has ended, but be sure to check the Inside Gun Digest Books blog often for more chances to win great Gun Digest books.**
Gun Digest has been publishing the Cartridges of the World since 1965, and during that time we’ve seen a lot of cartridges come and go. While this newest and most comprehensive 13th edition, just like its predecessors, contains information on many rounds that are no longer in production, we made room for new rounds moving many esoteric, odd and obsolete rounds to a bonus CD, which is included with the book.
In this completely revised and updated 13th edition, you also get:
- 55 all-new factory manufactured and wildcat cartridge listings, complete with technical drawings
- Updated resource information throughout
- Fully updated specifications and references
Plus, a special color section includes essays by three of the industries leading writers with crucial, “state of the union” information.
This week, we’re giving away a copy of Cartridges of the World to one lucky winner.
To enter the random drawing, just post a comment below telling us about your primary interest in cartridges. Are you a reloader, a collector or a simply a connoisseur of all things firearms? Or, as always, you can just say you’d like to win the book.
Entries will be accepted until midnight Tuesday (Sept. 11, 2012) and we’ll announce the winner Wednesday (Sept. 12). Good luck!

I am 49 and have been collecting cartridges since I was 8. I have one of these books but my edition is over 20 years old. It would be great to win a new edition. Thanks
I just like to shoot and you got to have the right cartridge.
Shoot the best, forget the rest!
When it’s cheap, a jam will make you weep!
Love to shoot and reload to shoot even more. Looks like a good book to have in my library. Hope to win
I haven’t had a copy of this in over 30 years. I think it would be great to get another copy. So, yes, I would very much like to win it.
I reload rifle & handgun cartridges & would very much appreciate this book.
I am a retired law enforcement officer, weapons instructor, avid hunter and reloader. I am passing on my love of all things firearms to my 3 grandchildren and this would be a great book to spend time with them showing them all the different cartridges that are out there.
Reloader, user, connoisseur, maybe I should work on being a poet too.
Enter me in for a copy, I’d love one.
I collect old ammunition and have been facinated with them from an early age. I still have old cartidges that I found when I was 8 at my Grandfathers house in the country, up on the top shelf in the kitchen. I’m 66 now and still enjoy researching with my old Cartidges of the World books. Keep up the good work.
I’m just simply a connoisseur of all things firearms!
I’m a cartridge collector owning the 11th edition of Cartridges of the World. It’s addictive highlighting the various cartridges in the book as I collect them. Love to have the 13th for the newest cartridges out there.
I am a reloader for many years and anytime I see something like this I get real interested. Thanks for the chance to win one
My son and I started collecting cartridges not to long ago as I have a disability and we can do this together. I would love to be blessed with this book to help us identify some cartridges given to us from an older gentlemen.
I am a guru of all cartridges. I love to read about ammo and especially about obsolete and rarely used ammo.
I am a reloader and I would like to win this book.
I am a long time reloader who could really use some help with some of the less common stuff.
I am a reloader and I like the older guns andit would be nice to have a book that tells about current ammunition but also outlines available ammo (brass) and that ammo that cannot be converted from other brass and is totally obsolete.
Really enjoy researching/studying various types of cartridges, and their history. Also done a bit of reloading over many years. Right now trying to figure how much pressure my Rem. Model 14 can take and if it can be re-barreled/modified to handle something other than the .25 Rem. Would love to ad this new edition to my library.
In my country (Hungary) it is very difficult to get quality information about guns, ammunition and related issues. I am a hunter, and would like to start reloading soon, so this book would be a great asset for me.
I’m a reloader so I’m very interested in the various cartridges that are available.
Thanks for the opportunity.
