The Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 is one of the most popular modern sporting rifles chambered in .22 Long Rifle
** The giveaway has ended, but be sure to check the Inside Gun Digest Books blog often for more chances to win great Gun Digest books.**
One of the interesting side effects of the modern sporting rifle phenomenon is the production of like models in rimfire calibers. These rifles, based on the AR-15, are very popular, and with rising costs in ammunition and production, the alternative of shooting rimfire ammunition through a largely similar (or otherwise identical in some cases) rifle for training purposes has great appeal.
One of many similar models from many companies, the Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 is perhaps the best seller of them all and for good reason. It is lightweight, accurate enough for training, plinking and target shooting and has a very simple, solid method of operation. And, it happens to be just one of the many popular new models added to the hundreds of rimfire rifles already covered in the recently-revised Gun Digest Book of Rimfire Rifles Assembly/Disassembly.
This week, for all of you .22 rifle lovers out there, we’re giving away a copy of Gun Digest Book of Rimfire Rifles Assembly/Disassembly. I really like using 22LR to practice. I have a conversion kit for my Bushmaster AR-15. I purchased 2 AK 47/22 ‘s by AMRSCOR one for myself and one for my Grandson’s graduation.
Bought an S&W AR15-22 and took it to the range a few days later and was hitting the bulls eye at 50 yards right out of the box. Could not ask for a better gun. Highly recommended.
Nice for some low cost practice. And on need to relaod.
I have a Spikes Tactical .22 LR upper for my AR15. As I get older, it seems I am going full circle. I am back to the .22 LR and the Spikes upper is a big part of that!
Just finished rehabbing an old Stevens Crackshot. Fun little feller!
I now have a total of 6 rimfire (.22 LR) weapons – 4 rifles and two pistols. The pistols are both Ruger’s – SP101 revolver, and Mark II Target – both fun to shoot. The rifles range from a 1936 5-shot Springfield Arms rifle, and a single shot, also from Springfield Arms. I have a Henry H101 Youth lever action and a Ruger 10/22 takedown – both purchased this year.
As you can see, I can really use this book!
We purchased a Ruger 10-22 at Christmas and we have so much fun shooting it at the range.
I would love to win this. My latest 22 was a 10/22 ruger.
This Spring I ressurrected an old Mossberg 51a auto-feeder that was a sort of hierloom. Very retro with it’s Mannlicher stock and hooded muzzle sight
I was astounded how accurate it is with the ’40s Mossberg peep sight after only a minimal adjustment.
I belong to a rifle & pistol club and this book would be very helpful to the junior rifle team
I bought a S&W M&P 15-22 several months ago, before I knew how popular they were.
