JC advised me to get one quick as the limited production would 'fly off the shelves'. So I bought 1 along with 4 mags and a custom rig to carry the thing, I alredy owned a Browning 9mm highpower with target sights, an H&K P9s 9mm, a very nice Hoag tuned 45 Colt and 2 Smith & Wessons a model 19 (357) & a model 58 in 41mag. What the hell if you could get a variation to aquire another gun on the very restricted UK Firearms licence why not. I spent almost a year and many thousands of pounds teaching myself to shot the '10' with full house rounds as well as I shot the H&K or the browning. Straight out of the box with the Bren 10 I was confident taking on the hostage target ,with the first shot, but it was a year before I got the control needed to double tap without killing the hostage. The thing was so unwieldy compared to any of my other guns. I liked the power so much so that I traded the '10' for A Delta Elite. This is all ancient history in the UK now. We all lost our cartridge handguns ( with a very few exceptions like 24inch barrelled revolvers and .22 semiautos with a 12 inch shoulder stock and 12 inch barrel) So these days even remembering all its faults I'd have it back in a second!

Mas makes pretty valid comments about some of the faults of the ’10′ I met colonel cooper just after the gun went into production, at the time I was an armourer in the British Army. I was working at Potomac Arms [now gone...] in Alexandria, Va., and we received a couple Bren-10, but never received the magazines for them.
If D&D had them in stock, why weren't they shipped?

BruceM is correct, except for maybe the magazine problem. They were sub contracted to someone who just didn’t make working mags, or enough working mags.<br

I see no problem with the safety being too high. Maybe for some one with small hands. The 41 AE is a niece little cartridge with more power then the 40 sw. I am currently looking at a 1911 clone in 10mm. Just not sure if I really need it or not, but I only have 19 toys so I should probably get it anyway LOL

I have a TZ 75 in 9mm but also a 41 AE barrel for it. Tom Dornaus & Mike Dixon read a magazine article by JC praising the CZ75 with his only lament being that the CZ was chambered in a minor caliber. Dornaus built the prototype by scaling up a CZ to .45 ACP dimensions and incorporating features from other guns. JC was an unpaid consultant who advised D&D regarding features he'd like to see on the gun but that was the total extent of his involvement. In fact, the Bren Ten was originally designated the CSP-80 (Combat Service Pistol of 1980) and was a .45. The name, the chambering in .40 Special, etc was JC's idea. So, it wasn't the first gun specifically designed for 10mm, another myth. The idea that magazines were rare is still another as over a thousand were in inventory when the company folded. There are, however, circumstances surrounding early shipments of guns which led to this notion. Chuck Taylor's article in SWAT was discredited and he was, in fact, disciplined by the publisher and he eventually left. SWAT was forced to print a retraction although it was summarily a left handed effort. There were certain aspects of his "test" which he failed to disclose in the article which influenced the results greatly. MA's experience with the .45 ACP conversion kit is old news and he went into that experience in an old magazine article he authored. This isn't false information but rather a relating of his personal experience with a single unit. As I said, if you really want to know, read the book. Everything else is mostly internet myth and faulty common knowledge.B.

First off, contrary to “common knowledge”, Jeff Cooper absolutely did not design this gun.
