Ferguson rifle made by Durs Egg of London, one of England’s best gun craftsmen. The ten-thread breechplug is slotted to help carry powder fouling away. One turn up or down closed and opened the breech for loading. This specimen was bought in North Carolina around 1900, carried to England and returned here recently.
